How to set the PIN and activate the card?
You can set the PIN code at any maib ATM, POS terminal in the branch or directly in the maibank app.
How to set or change the PIN code online for your business card through maibank?
- Access the maibank app;
- Choose the business card for which you want to configure the PIN;
- Select the "Set PIN code" option from the card menu;
- Enter a four-digit PIN code that you want;
- Repeat the new PIN code for confirmation;
- Complete the process through standard authorization methods.
The card with physical support will be active after setting the PIN code in maibank.
If you have forgotten/lost the set PIN, change the PIN code in maibank without reissuing the card. For this, select the "Change PIN code" option from the card options and follow the steps similar to the settings.
The use of the card for making payments, with the physical insertion of the card in the POS terminal, will be possible only after a successful transaction with contact at any maib ATM (physical insertion in the ATM) and confirmation with the new PIN code set in maibank (e.g. Balance check, Cash withdrawal).
Activating the card via ATM and POS terminal:
To set the PIN code, you need the activation code, which you will automatically receive via SMS from the short number 6242 on the 3rd day after the card is issued.
The PIN is set, and the card is activated at maib ATMs or POS terminals in maib branches/agencies.
To set the PIN at maib ATMs, do the following:
- Insert the card into the ATM and select the language;
- Enter and confirm the activation code received via SMS from the short number 6242;
- Set the PIN and repeatedly confirm the entered PIN;
After setting the PIN, the card is automatically activated.
To set the PIN at POS terminals in maib branches/agencies, follow the instructions of the bank employee:
- enter the PIN code you want and confirm;
- reenter the PIN code desired and confirm;
- enter the activation code received by SMS and confirm.

If you lost or did not receive the SMS with the activation code from the short number 6242, you can request the Activation Code using one of 3 ways:
- Send an SMS from the phone number to the short number 6242, indicating the last 4 digits of the card. The SMS must not contain spaces and characters other than the last 4 digits of the card or
- Select the "Activation code" function in the maibank app and indicate the phone number* and the last 4 digits of the card you own. This is the case for new customers - cardholders of the Bank or
- Select the inactive card from the list of cards in the maibank app. This is for existing customers - cardholders.
Changing the phone number to which the SMS with the Activation Code is sent can only be done at bank branches upon your request.
Receiving the activation code and requesting the activation code is carried out using the phone number indicated in the profile of the designated holder whose name the card is issued in the bank's system.
