The event brought together entrepreneurs interested in diversifying energy resources and green financing, suppliers of facilities dedicated to alternative resources, government officials, researchers, and civil society representatives, focusing on presenting solutions for a sustainable future and financing for the green economy transition.
Violina Spac, Director of the National Agency for Energy Regulation, presented the legal framework that regulates the licensing, conditions and necessary documents for producing electricity from renewable sources.
Macar Stoianov, maib Financial Consultant, said at the event’s opening: “Moldova has considerable potential and a unique opportunity to develop green energy as a new industry and significantly reduce dependence on external energy resources. Green energy is an industry with potential growth, being an opportunity to create an industry with well-paid jobs. Our country has already started the development of this sector, and it is necessary to continue and strengthen efforts in this direction”.
Andrii Glevatskyi, maib Deputy Chairman of the Management Board, in charge of the Business Banking Division: “A few years ago, financing renewable energy projects was more challenging due to the regulatory framework. Now we have much better conditions for investing in the diversification of energy resources. Today, with maib’s help, 70 customers have developed complex projects, and many others have received financing for green energy businesses. Regardless of the difficulties that appear along the way, we will continue to support our customers who want to invest in Green Energy projects both for their consumption and for sale, increasing the Republic of Moldova’s energy independence”.
The discussions in the first panel addressed the topic "Photovoltaic systems and net metering", the moderator of the panel being Alexandru Bologa, Local Coordinator of the EU4Business Project – EBRD. Success stories, the transition to alternative resources, the financing of sustainable investments, the regulatory framework, and the practical aspects of connecting to the grid were the subject lines discussed by Andrii Glevatskyi, maib Deputy Chairman of the Management Board, Violina Spac, Director of the National Agency for Energy Regulation, Sergiu Petrea, Director of energy management department, ICS “Premier Energy Distribution” SA, Tatiana Odnorog, CEO of Unisolar SRL, an expert in photovoltaic systems, Gherasim Tofan, Director of Skyvolt SRL, maib customer and Zoia Romaniuc, Director of “Zoia Romaniuc” GT.
In the second panel, the participants talked about wind and biogas systems. The discussions moderated by Mihai Lupu, Head of Laboratory, Energy Institute, highlighted important aspects, including new and second-hand installations, equipment efficiency, climate challenges, favourable environmental impact, etc. The discussions were attended by Dumitru Baxan, maib Deputy Chairman of the Management Board, Sergiu Casu, Head of the Tariffs and analysis Section, Electricity and Renewables Department, the National Agency for Energy Regulation, Sergiu Petrea, Director energy management department, ICS "Premier Energy Distribution” SA, Corneliu Marza, President of " Globeco International” SRL, an expert in wind systems, Valentin Ungureanu, Director of "Garma Grup” SRL, maib customer.
At the event, participants learned the equipment and machinery for producing electricity from renrwable resources at the exhibition attended by maib partners.
