Thousands of music lovers attended a jubilee concert of the composer Eugen Doga on August 20, eager to convey their admiration for his exceptional works and to say once again, "Happy birthday, maestro!".
The event, celebrating the famous composer's 85th birthday, was hosted by CIE Moldexpo, being organized by iTicket in partnership with maib and Mastercard.
The composer’s unforgettable songs were included in the concert repertoire, performed by artists from the Republic of Moldova and Romania: Mariana Bulicanu, Irina Baiant, Ana Maria Donose, Igor Podgoreanu, Tania Cerga, Vitalie Advahov, Dumitru Matu, Mihai Gandraman, Martina Meola, Lucian Advahov. The singers were accompanied by the Extended Orchestra of the "Serghei Lunchevici" National Philharmonic, led by the conductor Dumitru Carciumaru and the "Doina" Academic Choral Chapel, under the baton of first conductor Ilona Stepan.
The incendiary atmosphere and beloved music managed to awaken beautiful memories for most viewers and create new ones for others. Those who wished had the opportunity to immortalize the most beautiful moments in photos in a special area equipped with a piano – Eugen Doga’s favorite musical instrument.
The concert is part of a series of actions honoring the maestro and promoting his creation, the year 2022 being declared the "Cultural Year of Eugen Doga" in Chisinau.
