Starting today, Google Pay is available at maib on both Android and WearOS devices.
Maib customers with maib Visa and Mastercard cards can pay in brick-and-mortar stores, in apps and online with Google Pay – a fast, simple and safe way to make everyday payments with just your phone.
Now you can store your credit or debit cards in Google Pay, within the Google Wallet app, a digital wallet also launching in Moldova today and available for download in Google Play Store.
With Google Pay, maib customers can make contactless payments directly from their Android phones, and the transaction is processed immediately. Google Pay and Google Wallet make payments even more secure, thanks to several security levels implemented.
The applied technology protects user’s card data, which is not stored on the phone and is never disclosed. Using an encrypted and secure token, Google Pay provides an additional level of security and privacy to digital payments.
The token is device-specific and is associated with a dynamic security code that changes with each transaction.
To add a Visa or Mastercard card to Google Pay, it is necessary to install the Google Wallet application from the Google Play Store on your phone and choose the activation method:
- via the maibank mobile app/ the "Cards" section/ click on the card/ the "Add to GPay" button;
- via the Google Wallet application/ the "Ad to wallet" button / the "Payment Card" section.
It is straightforward to make payments via Google Pay at supermarkets, pharmacies, taxis, restaurants, cafes, etc.. It is enough to unlock the phone and bring the device close to the POS terminal. Transaction confirmation is received immediately.
Users can make payments in apps and on websites without having to create accounts or fill out lengthy payment forms. In this case, it is only necessary to check if the application or web page has the Google Pay payment button. If your phone has been lost or stolen, you can quickly and simply use the "Find my device" function to lock your phone from anywhere, set a new password or even delete all the information on it.
