Maib reminds you that, starting from April 1, 2025, Law No. 34/2024 regarding cash settlements has come into effect, setting clear limits for cash payments and collections made by legal entities.
Limits for cash payments:
- to other legal entities engaged in entreprenurial/professional activities – 100, 000 MDL cumulatively, per month;
- to individuals not engaged in entrepreneurial/professional activities – 100, 000 MDL cumulatively, per month, per person;
- for the purchase of agricultural products from individuals not engaged in entrepreneurial activities:
– 200 000 MDL cumulatively, per year, per person, for the purchase of plant and horticultural products;
– 300 000 MDL cumulatively, per year, per person, for the purchase of livestock products (other exceptions are also provided by law);
- dividend payments – 100, 000 MDL cumulatively, per year for each associate or shareholder;
- loans – 100, 000 MDL cumulatively, per year.
Limits for cash collections from individuals:
• no more than 100,000 MDL per payment.
If the above limits are exceeded, fines ranging from 3% to 10% of the cash payment or collection exceeding the established limit will apply.
