As preparations for the 2025 agricultural season begin, maib, in collaboration with the Office of External Assistance Programs (OGPAE), announces the launch of the Agricultural Credit Facility (FCA) Program - a financing mechanism to support agricultural producers through favourable bank loans with a grant component.
Main benefits of the FCA Program:
- access to financing for agricultural equipment and post-harvest processing equipment.
- a grant component for eligible investments of up to 30% of the loan amount.
- an attractive fixed interest rate of just 5.1% annually for the entire loan term.
Through this program, farmers will be able to access loans to purchase necessary agricultural equipment and develop post-harvest processing activities. Additionally, part of the loan can be used for working capital for farming activities.
Eligible expense categories and maximum financing limits:
- conventional agricultural equipment, with financing of up to 2 million MDL and a 5% grant component
- conservation agriculture equipment, with financing of up to 3 million MDL for producer groups and 2 million MDL for individual beneficiaries, benefitting from a 15% grant.
- post-harvest processing equipment, such as sorting, packaging, bottling, milling, fodder production and agricultural presses, up to 5 million MDL with a grant component of 30%
- working capital required for investment and production projects, with financing of up to 15% of the loan value, but without a grant component.
The FCA Program will be implemented over 5 years, starting in 2025, and maib is ready to offer these loans under advantageous terms, with a fixed interest rate of just 5.1% annually.
