Careers in the AI era: the MAIB perspective at the Tech Women Summit 2026

How do you build a career in a world where artificial intelligence is changing more and more aspects of work? This was one of the main themes of the 2026 edition of the Tech Women Summit, the largest event dedicated to women in technology in the Republic of Moldova.

The event brought together team leaders, entrepreneurs and company representatives to discuss how AI is influencing careers and what opportunities are emerging for future generations of professionals.

During the summit, Svetlana Bodaci, Human Resources Director at maib, spoke about the changes that artificial intelligence is bringing to people’s career paths, particularly those of women.

It is important for organisations to offer clear career paths and development opportunities, so that everyone can see the next step in their career.

“Our first tasks, the first line of code we wrote or the first test we passed successfully helped us to learn and gain confidence in ourselves. At maib, we want experienced people, and that means we must also offer them the chance to build that experience.

At the same time, 39% of skills will undergo significant changes, though this does not automatically mean they will disappear. These changes also affect young people who are now taking their first steps in their careers, including those aged between 15 and 24,” said Svetlana Bodaci.

Tatiana Medvedeva, Head of the Agile and Transformation Band at maib, took part in the panel discussion Internships in the Age of AI: Still Worth It for Companies?, which explored the role of internship programmes at a time when many entry-level tasks are being taken over by artificial intelligence-based tools.

During the panel, Tatiana emphasised that internships and practical experience remain essential for training the next generation of professionals.

“Even though technology is evolving rapidly, young people still need guidance, mentoring and opportunities through which to learn and develop their skills, and at maib we encourage this,” concluded Tatiana.

By taking part in the Tech Women Summit 2026, maib supports talent development, continuous learning and the creation of an environment in which people can grow professionally and successfully adapt to changes in the labour market.
