Agile WoW at maib: two more orchestras and seven bands will bring customers next-level banking experiences

Two more orchestras and seven bands enrolled in the agile transformation Wow (way of working), announced by maib at the end of 2021 to offer customers more flexibility, innovation, quick solutions and next-level experiences. We remind you that the first agile orchestras were launched by maib in May this year.

For one month, specialists from various subdivisions (product managers, sales managers, marketing managers, analysts, IT specialists, etc.) will participate in agile work and tools training. Within the two orchestras formed - Retail Daily Banking and Business Banking Segment - the 70 maib employees will develop in Sprints of 2 weeks each simplified products, services and processes for the bank's customers. After the launch, they will take over new projects and challenges. The trainings will also be delivered by two agile international coaches, who will share their expertise and knowledge in this field.

During the launch event of the second wave of front runners, the maib management wished them success. They seemed convinced that the projects that will be developed by the two orchestras would considerably improve the customer experience in the banking sector.

Aliona Stratan, First Deputy Chairwoman of the Management Board:

"The first two orchestras that started working agile in May are already showing beautiful results - optimizations of existing products and services and new projects that our customers increasingly appreciate. The agile approach, which implies a more modern, innovative and simplified work format, is a competitive advantage from the perspective of maib professional skills as well. I am glad that the new employees also choose us for agile wow. I wish success to the teams that will discover and embrace a new way of thinking and of working, which I am sure will become their new passion at work".

The agile approach in banking means that decisions are going to be made quickly. The expertise of specialists in various fields working simultaneously on the same development gives a broader vision of the processes, ensuring value creation and improving customer experience.

Why did maib initiate the agile implementation?

Several reasons led us as a bank to initiate agile transformation. Here are just a few:

  1. The world is changing at a dizzying pace, and we must be agile and flexible always to be customer-oriented, responding to their expectations and needs.
  2. Technological progress, fintech motivates us to accelerate, develop and innovate.
  3. "Talent War" if we want to attract and retain the best employees - we need to offer them an innovative work model and extraordinary professional experiences, and Agile WoW is one of them.

What's next:

  1. Several other dedicated orchestras will be created and launched in the new working format.
  2. Launching new products and services on the banking market.
  3. Fascinating work experiences for employees and added value for customers.

As a bank, maib aims to become more flexible and efficient, to increase the speed with which it acts, reacts and makes innovative products available to its customers. It aims to change traditional conservative processes to fast and innovative ones and to increase the share of digitization.

As an employer, maib aims to provide its employees with next-level experiences, an environment in which each employee develops multilateral skills and creative thinking, an environment in which they can innovate, take responsibility and excel, and an environment in which employees can work with pleasure and ... feel happy at work.

Maib is the first bank in Moldova and the region to start a complex process of agile implementation, which will transform the bank's business, aiming to create a new standard of customer experience to make their lives simpler, better and more mobile.
