When passion for sports meets team spirit, a performance surpasses all expectations. A few members of the maib superlative community participated in the Rubicon 2025 ultramarathon organized by Sporter. They managed to push their limits on the approximately 500-kilometre route that connected the Arch of Triumph in Bucharest with the Arch of Triumph in Chișinău.
The maib superlatives ran day and night, through rain, blizzards, and snow, with each kilometer covered as proof of the team’s resilience and ambition. The 9 runners initially set a goal to race a cumulative distance of 1,000 kilometres. Still, thanks to their collective efforts, they achieved the incredible result of 1,200 kilometres, breaking the previous record held by the “maib activ la superlativ” community at its best.
Andrei Urzîca, SME customer manager at maib and member of the “maib activ la superlativ” community, shared:
“Rubicon 2025 was an extraordinary race, a true challenge and a test of our limits. This year, 4 women and 5 men from the “maib activ la superlativ” community participated. We lived every moment of the race together, from the struggles of waking up in the middle of the night to continue our journey, no matter the weather, to the moments of pride and tears of joy. The Rubicon 2025 marathon proved that maib people are ready to face any challenge to surpass their limits and break their records.”
In addition to the collective records broken, some participants achieved new personal bests in long-distance running. The following maib people recorded outstanding results:
- Cristina Dănilă, agile coach at maib - 3 rd place in the women’s category;
- Vadim Martalog, merchandiser at maib – 3 rd place in the men’s category.
