We take part year after year, proudly wear the "activ la superlativ" t-shirts, boldly run the 5, 10, 21 and 42 km distances and, finally, enjoy together the small and big victories - whether we talk about Alexandrina's first marathon, Andrei's best time on this distance or Olga's motivation to participate together with her colleagues.
Chisinau Big Hearts Marathon 2023 brought over 100 members of the maib community of runners to the race, enthusiastic, trained and eager to enjoy every kilometre, making it the largest bank community participating in the marathon.
Alexandrina Dobrovolschi, maib active to superlative runner:
"Smiling and enthusiastic, I ran the Chisinau International Marathon 2023. Even though I chose the shortest distance, 5 km, this was indeed a victory for me. Every kilometre I ran brought with it a sense of accomplishment and determination. I already want to train with the maib superlatives to double the distance in next year's marathon and run 21 or 42 kilometres."
Andrei Urzîca, maib active to superlative runner:
"Running a 42-kilometre marathon is undeniably challenging. It requires you to be synced, to be focused on what you are doing and, most of all, to believe in yourself and not give up. Many thoughts of quitting the race followed me on the course, but the moment you see and hear the support of superlatives, colleagues and loved ones, you gain energy, motivation and success."
Olga Pascaru-Dosca,maib active to superlative runner:
"Running with my colleagues from maib was a great experience and one that I would do again. Taking part in the marathon was always a temptation which, having often been postponed for 'another time', was actually waiting for its opportune moment. Chisinau Big Hearts Marathon 2023 was the perfect place for a new experience. I still relive the excitement and adrenaline of the start, and the most memorable moment was stepping across the finish line with the maib superlatives."
This year, 40 children of maib employees also participated in the Big Heart Kids Marathon powered by Visa, running distances of 400, 800, 1200 and 2000 m.
At this extraordinary event dedicated to sport and community, the maib team again demonstrated that we are active to superlative in everything we do. With every step and every smile, we represented not just a bank but, a strong team spirit that defines us.
At maib, sport is not only about being active but also about doing it to the superlative. It's a way to push yourself beyond your limits to connect with others. We are glad we could be part of the Chisinau International Marathon 2023 and promote an active and healthy lifestyle.
