Several customers today received text messages from various phone numbers urging them to access a link to a clone web page and enter their card details, under the guise of "unblocking" it.
Maib reacted quickly and managed to block these sites, with the support of the competent institutions, whom we thank them. We continuously monitor and act promptly to deter fraudulent intent. Help us too. Keep your personal data safe.
We urge you never give out your card details - card number, CVV, PIN, expiry date or OTP passwords.
Maib does not ask for them in any way, and if you are called, receive SMS or email from so-called "bank workers" and you are asked for this data, know that the applicants are aiming for only one thing: to take your money. Remember: if your personal data is safe, so is your money.
Let us know as soon as possible at infofraud@maib.md or by calling the Contact Center at 1313, when you receive such a message, in order to be able to stop online fraud attempts.
Share this post to inform your friends too. By taking position, you might protect them from losing money.
