Notice on the taxation of interest paid to resident individuals

Dear customer,

In accordance with the Law on the amendment of normative acts no. 356 of 29.12.2022 were amended art. 90¹ para. (3⁷) and (3⁸) of the Fiscal Code of the Republic of Moldova.

Therefore, as of January 1, 2023: 

• banks will withhold a tax of 7% from interest paid to resident individuals on deposit, current and card account balances; 
• banks - primary dealers will withhold a tax of 12% from income in the form of interest and/or capital growth from state securities issued by the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Moldova, obtained by individuals.
