Due to the decision of the National Bank of Moldova (NBM) of December 20, 2022, the reference index, used in calculating the maximum effective interest rate for loans in MDL granted to individuals, increased by 3.95 percentage points, up to 13.42%.
Therefore, maib revised the floating rate on the loans granted, effective from January 1, 2023.
At the same time, understanding customers' needs and taking into account the complicated economic situation, the bank decided to increase the reference index depending on the type of credit by 2 percentage points and 2.5 percentage points, respectively, compared to 3.95 percentage points, provided by the NBM.
The floating rate for loans in MDL is increased as follows:
- Mortgage loans – by 2.5 percentage points
- Loans granted in the "Prima Casă" program – by 2 percentage points
- Car loans – by 2.5 percentage points
- Revolving credits to the card account – by 2 percentage points.
From January 1, 2023, the new loan repayment plan will be available at the branch or in the maibank mobile app.
We remind you that the floating interest rate on loans changes twice a year, on January 1 and July 1, depending on the reference index published by the NBM in November and May, respectively.
